Can I just vent for a moment here?

I understand times are changing in the web sphere. Technologies are soaring to new heights, and that social media (including searches like Google) want to cater to everyone's individual needs. But let's get honest and real for a sec.

By using algorithms in social media, the algorithm is choosing your content, not you (unless you spend time liking and commenting on posts). At least for my limited level of understanding. I just read about how Instagram changed their algorithms again...and now they're more like Facebook's. As a professional artist, this is frustrating!

To be seen I have to spend MORE time on social media. Engage more, do more, share more, ask poll questions, make stories (btw, how are these different than posts??), and it goes on and on. On top of it all, I need to get as many likes, comments, and shares as possible so that my post makes the upper feed. O.O Really?? This is what it's come to? Who's most popular?

Well it sounds that way anyways...

People, I'm trying to simplify my life and have REAL relationships with my followers.

This is not helping my mental state.

What are your thoughts on all of this? Am I missing the unicorn magic of algorithms?
